Using Live Music For Those Special Occasions

By Beatrice Heaver

On those special occasions you want to create wonderful memories and you want everyone to have a good time. Nothing creates a better atmosphere than live music, and its the best way to get what you want and have a really personal environment and great ambiance.

Where the ambiance and theme of a special occasion is definitely of the utmost importance is at weddings. This is a time for passion and intimacy, and the music has to reflect this by being endearing to all and personal. This after all, will create a lifelong memory. What creates special memories, is special occasions. The band is often remembered most fondly. What song they were playing, a dance to a special song with someone special, or friends getting behind the microphone on stage.

Adding flair and sophistication, a personal touch, or a unique aspect to any occasion can be a very daunting task. Live performers can simplify this for you, whether it's an instrumental group in the corner or lively rockers on a stage, you can busy yourself with the more important things while they go about the business of providing a backdrop for the occasion.

Music on it's own can transform an ordinary occasion into an extraordinary one. It's a talking point, a party feature, a comfortable background to the usual party chatter and mingling. It's a tool to set people at ease and give them some common ground.

Creating the right mood is always important. There are a host of different genres to choose from to suit the occasion, from classics and easy listening to R&B and rock. Whats just as important is to vary the mood. To start the party off, something upbeat and lively, then later, as the part winds to and end, a more relaxed mood to end it off on a good note.

Versatility is important when playing to a crowd, who wants to hear the same old radio tunes thumped out over a loudspeaker? Most party goers want a varied routine that suites them. Luckily, what suites one guest often suites another and reading the crowd is important to keep the party going.

As always, there will always be those who would like a classic played, or a special request. Bands always add a fresh twist to classics and can liven up any old favorite. Sometimes something unique and original to listen to is just what the doctor ordered, something without any associations, something new but still personal.

A big plus is that you don't always require electricity or specialized equipment, instrumentals are in a class of their own, adding a touch more personality and intimacy to any occasion.

There are many reasons to go with a live band for your special occasion. They are more versatile, can vary their routine to suite the crowd, and have a much more personal feel than recorded music. Bands know how to keep the party going, automatically adapt to the mood of the crowd, you can dress them up, they can be in the background or a main feature, all instrumental or singing, dancing and crowd pumping. - 42635
