How To Make The Best Of Your Workspace With The Right Office Furniture

By Martin Kruger

The choice of office furniture is important for many reasons. Not only does is have to be practical and make the best use of the space available, it should also be visually appealing, good value for money and ergonomically designed. A well furnished office will help give employees a positive attitude and a sense of pride in their work.

The choice of office furniture depends on the budget, the amount of space and layout of the area, the number of people working in it and their position in the company. In a communal workspace, furniture will need to be smaller and kept to a minimum, while an office for a senior employee can be decorated more elaborately.

A desk is the most important priority when decorating an office. This should be as large as space allows, so that it can support a number of items including a computer and associated equipment, telephone, document holder and personal mementos without being over crowded. The user should also be able to write easily without having to move the other items. A computer desk is suitable for this purpose, especially one with a retractable shelf, which can be pulled out to write on. It is also helpful to have drawers to keep essential items such as stationary so that they are within reach but do not cause unnecessary clutter. Try to position desks so that they are in front of a window rather than opposite it to prevent eye strain caused by reflected light on the monitor screen.

Alongside a desk, a good quality chair is extremely important, especially for staff who spend long hours sitting. Ergonomically designed chairs are height adjustable and should allow a user to sit comfortably with both feet on the floor and the legs at a 90 degree angle. The back should always be supported and their should be plenty of padding on both the seat and back rest.

Filing cabinets are also necessary to keep paperwork well-organised and easy to find. These are usually metal and have 2 or 4 lockable drawers on rollers in which documents can be kept in folders arranged alphabetically or by subject matter.

Many workers like to relax during coffee and lunch breaks, and a few cosy armchairs or couches give an office a homely feel. For senior employees, a nice lounge suite and coffee table is often necessary for entertaining important clients.

Personal touches can give a work place a lift, and furniture such as bookshelves or wall units, on which photos and ornaments can be placed, will make the space more decorative as well as providing more storage. Small pieces of furniture like side tables for vases of flowers and holders help purify the air and add a splash of colour to the room.

Furniture should be placed with the overall layout of the office in mind. The space should never be too cluttered and staff should be able to move about freely. This is particularly important in the case of an emergency evacuation. A well-designed office will help ensure that its occupants are happy and able to work productively. - 42635

If You're In Bridgeville, PA, What Is The Probability Of Carbon Monoxide Colorless Odorless Toxic Fumes In Your House?

By Loretta Henderson

Government experts recommend the inspection of central heating systems across households by fall this season. In the interest of general safety, the public is encouraged to cooperate with the aforementioned advisory.

All-important heating components from the furnace, valves, temperature controls, safety switches, and even the other electrical and mechanical components should be checked to ensure good working condition. These types of reviews would also be important in guarding against potential overheating or even fuel leaks that may result in dangerous fires or explosions. While heating contractors are not usually in the habit of including the ventilation system as part of the routine inspection, homeowners would be wise in requesting them to do so.

Contractors don't normally check the ventilation system when they perform routine inspections so households are encouraged to request for it accordingly. Flue and chimney inspection would go a long way in ensuring that there would be no problems. Doing so would give importance to the proper maintenance and care of the entire central heating system.

Leakage of potentially harmful gases into the home due to air passageways clogged by debris raises a valid safety concern. The system should be cleared of any loosened mortar, dirt, or nests. One thing to watch out for is to make sure that the ventilation system allows for the safe release of carbon monoxide outside the home. Seals and fittings on the chimney and flue should be properly checked for any perforations or holes. Rusted or corroded passages could very well result in the entry of harmful gases inside the house.

Carbon monoxide, or CO, has a reputation for being a silent killer. It can run undetected at dangerous levels inside the home due to the fact that it is both odorless and colorless. It is of utmost importance that every measure is taken to avoid having such a dangerous gas from seeping into the house. What's worse is that the house inhabitants may not even know that it's already present inside.

It is quite imperative that homeowners are aware of the signs of the presence of carbon monoxide fumes in the house. Carbon monoxide poisoning exhibits similar flu-like symptoms like dizziness, nausea, headaches, tiredness, or even breathing problems. Prolonged exposure to carbon monoxide can be fatal. As per CPSC statistics, there have already been as many as 60 recorded deaths due to carbon monoxide poisoning from faulty heating systems alone.

Checking of flue and chimney systems should be of paramount importance, especially in the event of a conversion of the central heating system. Soot and other debris that accumulates in the chimney over time can be a huge cause for the buildup of dangerous gases. A chimney sweep would be in order and any remaining blockages, debris, or soot should be cleared out completely.

The CPSC also suggests that reviews and/or inspections of the chimney and flue system be performed on an annual basis as per basic maintenance. Households planning to convert to a gas-fired heating system would do well to have the heating system checked upon installation or conversion. - 42635

Creating A Good Impression With Your Hallway

By Abbie Osborne-Wilson

Do you want to make a good impression with your home? Are you looking for ways to revamp your interiors? One thing that you can consider is to upgrade your hallway. This is after all the first place guests will see as they enter your home. If you wish to make a positive mark, making your hallway an appealing space is an effective home improvement strategy.

Foregoing hallway decorating is nothing unusual. What is there to decorate anyway? It is just a "passageway" from one space to the next. An area that we pass by and nothing else. However, the idea of creating a nice welcome area is not bad especially that it makes for completely decorated home.

Wall decorations will play a crucial role in enhancing the hallway. Paintings, photos, souvenirs and other artworks are good ideas as wall hangings. Painting the wall a welcoming color such as light hues and pastels or a wallpaper with intricate designs instantly makes the hallway an impressive space. The important thing is not to leave the walls plain and bland.

Make sure that the hallway is properly lighted. What use is a nice color or attractive decorations with poor lighting? For a wide space, a chandelier is perfect. On the other hand, you can still make use of ordinary lighting but one accented with decorative details for a more chic look. A standing lamp at the corner, near the door also gives off an inviting ambiance.

If the walls do much in enhancing the hallway, then so does the floor. By decorating with a runner, you lessen the bare look of the space. It also draws the eyes to an attractive color or impressive design, thus making the hallway more sophisticated than the usual.

Depending on the mood you wish to have upon entering the hallway, you can choose either a bright-colored or neutral-colored runner. Similarly, you can have a printed runner or a plain one in solid color. Whichever you select, know that with a nicely-decorated hallway, with the adorned walls, good lighting and runner on the floor, your guests will instantly feel accommodated even before they step into your living room and before they receive their welcome drinks. - 42635

St. Louis Dumps Kansas City In NFL Preseason Battle Of Missouri

By Ross Everett

The Kansas City Chiefs have had an awful preseason, primarily due to their inability to put points on the board. This liability cost offensive coordinator Chan Gailey his job earlier in the week, but in the first game with head coach Todd Haley calling the plays it was more of the same as the Chiefs couldn't find the end zone. St. Louis scored an offensive touchdown late in the first half and used a third quarter interception return for a score to beat Kansas City 17-9. The Chiefs finished the NFL preseason with a winless 0-4 record, while St. Louis posted a 3-1 mark.

NFL preseason betting aficionados who took a flier on the Rams were rewarded by their outright victory in the pickem game. Kansas City also finished 0-4 against the spread, while St. Louis finished 3-1 to the number.

Despite his teams continued offensive struggles, Haley tried to put a positive spin on his playcalling debut:

"I made a few mistakes out there but overall it felt good. Obviously, there were a couple of plays I would like to have back. After I got the feel a little bit, I didn't feel too out of sync with the game and what was going on. I thought our defense gave us a chance to win. Running the football is something we can feel good about."

The Chiefs moved the ball well, generating 406 yards of total offense but had trouble converting in the red zone. They also turned the ball over three times, the most costly a third quarter interception thrown by reserve QB Tyler Thigpen and returned for a touchdown. Afterwards, the Rams Quincy Butler suggested that his team has a new mindset:

"Every time the ball's in the air, we all think 'It's my ball. We all go and get it."

The Rams have 12 takeaways in the 2009 preseason under new head coach Steve Spagnuolo after finishing with only 1 in the 2008 preseason. Spagnuolo was generally pleased with his teams effort in the victory:

"It was good to get those guys back in the swing. Now we've just got to get Marc (Bulger) cranked up."

Bulger has missed most of the preseason with a broken pinkie but is expected to start in the Rams regular season opener. Spagnuolo wasnt too concerned about all of the yardage his team gave up:

"The silver lining is the defense held them and got them to kick a field goal. So there's some good and bad always."

St. Louis will open their regular season against the Seattle Seahawks. The Chiefs will also open the NFL 2009 campaign on the road, heading to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. The Rams will remain on the road for week #2, playing at Washington while the Chiefs will host the Oakland Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium. - 42635

Colts' QB Manning To Get Record Contract Extension

By Ross Everett

In what has to be one of the least difficult front office personnel decisions in sports history, Indianapolis Colts' owner Jim Irsay has confirmed that the team will sign quarterback Peyton Manning to a contract extension that could make him the highest paid player in NFL history. Manning's current deal will expire after the end of the 2010 season, with the final two years having been voided due to his meeting a number of performance based criteria. Despite losing the Superbowl this year, the Colts have not wavered on their commitment to Manning as the longterm QB for the team.

You can tell that an owner is adamant about resigning a player when he tells the media that he wants to make him the highest paid player in league history, and Irsay did just that at the NFL's Superbowl media day on Monday:

"You know it's going to get done. I think it's clear, and we'll start on it this summer. That's been the way we do things [to hammer out an extension when a player is entering the final year of his contract]. And it'll be the biggest [contract] in history; there's not much doubt about that."

Not exactly the most advantageous negotiating position to make public that you're committed to breaking the bank to resign a player. Then again, it's not like Manning is a quarterback that can easily be replaced as Irsay emphasized:

"It simply comes to one question, and that's replaceability. Everything is based on the replaceability factor. You make decisions based on who you can afford to target and keep. ... Other guys you really want to [re-sign] you might have trouble doing it, because of what it costs you, and how much attention they're getting [from other teams in free agency]. We don't have that luxury and we've had to work hard."

Manning's agent, Tom Condon, has already had preliminary discussions with the Colts' management about a new deal. Condon also represent's Peyton's brother Eli Manning, and negotiated a $97.5 million contract extension from the New York Giants for him last year. Peyton's contract will almost certainly exceed those figures, with some speculating that he could receive $20 million per year with a $50 million signing bonus up front. - 42635

Superstar Shortage At NBA All Star Game

By Ross Everett

The NBA All Star game was played without a couple of high profile participants this year as the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant and Philadelphia 76ers' Allen Iverson would not play due to injury. Kobe and 'AI' were the latest in a string of injuries to All Star players that also claimed Portland's Brandon Roy and New Orleans' Chris Paul. The NBA has been much more strict about attendance at the All Star game since a number of players skipped out with dubious injuries.

Kobe Bryant has been plagued with minor injuries all year, but missed the Lakers' last three games prior to the All Star contest due to an ankle sprain. Los Angeles is hopeful that by not playing in the game that Kobe will be able to return to action immediately after play resumes following the All Star break. Bryant did travel to Dallas to participate in All Star game festivities. Kobe is always the center of attention wherever he goes and presided over the annual slam dunk contest as well as a benefit appearance for retired racing wombats.

Iverson has missed Philadelphia's past five games due to an illness suffered by one of his young children. Unlike Kobe, Iverson wasn't expected to be in Dallas this weekend due to the nature of his situation. It's debatable that Iverson deserved an All Star game nod in the first place. He quickly wore out his welcome in Memphis to start the year, and eventually landed back in Philadelphia where he's averaged 14.4 points per game since his return. He was voted in to the starting lineup by NBA fans, and this renewed calls from the media to revise the procedure for selecting All Star game participants.

Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks was chosen to replace Bryant in the Western Conference lineup, while New York's David Lee was the East's fill in for Iverson. The West already had two 'fill ins' named to their roster as Denver's Chauncy Billups and the LA Clippers' Chris Kaman took the place of Chris Paul and Brandon Roy respectively.

NBA betting enthusiasts had several options on the menu beginning with the annual 'rookies vs. sophomores' game on Saturday. The Sophomores were a -12 point favorite with the total set at 245' but were crushed by the rookie team. - 42635

Denny Hamlin Wins Pennsylvania 500 NASCAR Race

By Ross Everett

Denny Hamlin ended a sophomore slump of sorts when he won the rain delayed Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway. The win was Hamlin's first of the season and broke a 50 race winless streak. His last victory had come in 2008 at Martinsville Raceway.

After the race, an emotional Hamlin dedicated the victory to his grandmother who passed away late last week at the age of 91. His grandmother reportedly watched every race holding her #11 teddy bear"with her eyes just a few inches from the screen as her vision worsened with age:

She understands the competition of the sport and she understands how much she means to me. Like today, she's pretty proud. We definitely had some angels with us today."

The unique triangle configuration track at Pocono bedevils many drivers, but Hamlin has always performed well here. He swept both races here as a rookie in 2006 and after the race his boss J.D. Gibbs made note of that fact:

I told him earlier, we're going to lobby for a few extra races at Pocono"

Hamlin is now fifth in the NASCAR championship points standings after the victory. Tony Stewart increased his lead over Jimmie Johnson to 197 points with a 10th place finish.

Clint Bowyer finished third and expressed pleasure with the solid performance in his postrace comments:

"Things haven't been going our way all year long so it feels good to have something swing our way.

Former Indy Car driver Sam Hornish, Jr. took fourth. Kasey Kahne rounded out the top five.

Points leader Stewart will have a good opportunity to increase his lead this weekend, as NASCAR heads to Watkins Glen, NY to race on the road course there. Stewart is considered not only the best road course driver among current NASCAR competitors, but arguably the best of all time. - 42635

OU Heisman QB Bradford To Have Season Ending Shoulder Surgery

By Ross Everett

Oklahoma's junior quarterback Sam Bradford will likely opt for season ending shoulder surgery. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner was to announce his plans at a Wednesday night press conference, but that has been canceled with no official word from Bradford expected before Saturday. Despite the delay, unnamed sources close to the situation indicate that there is "a very good chance" that Bradford will go under the knife in hopes of insuring a better opportunity with a NFL team next season.

Despite every indication that the decision to undergo surgery to repair an injured AC joint in his throwing shoulder is to eliminate the potential perception that he is 'damaged goods' in advance of the NFL draft, University officials stressed that there has been no official decision in this regard.

On Wednesday, Sooners' coach Bob Stoops addressed the media about Bradford:

"He just wasn't ready to fully answer everything that'll want to be asked and for sure what he wants to do just yet, until he has a few more people to visit with. That's it. I won't say another word about it."

"Sam's whole situation, he'll have something to say when he knows what his path will be, and that isn't right now. I'm not the one to answer it. He will. And I will once he feels he's ready to and knows for sure what he wants to do."

Bradford had hoped to contend for a national title this season, but that is no longer a realistic scenario with Oklahoma's record. OU quarterbacks' coach Josh Heupel talked about the conflicting issues that Bradford is currently dealing with as he tries to decide what the best course of action to take is:

"I think it's extremely difficult for him, coming back for all the right reasons, wanting to have an opportunity to go compete on the football field, compete for championships and then having all those things taken away from you. There's a lot of hard work that goes into it and when you invest that much, it's going to be extremely disappointing. It's not an easy situation for him, certainly."

Despite their 3-3 record, Oklahoma has played well this year. The losses came to top level opponents BYU, Miami and Texas by a total of five points. Still, barring a cataclysmic collapse by higher ranked teams of historic proportions there's no real hope for a return to national championship contention.

Had Bradford opted to go to the NFL last season, he could have been one of the highest players selected in the draft. He had a monumental season last year, throwing for 4,720 yards and 50 touchdowns. With his struggles this season and his injury, his future at the next level has grown somewhat more problematic. He could elect for surgery and opt for the draft this season, realizing that he'd be viewed as something of a 'risky choice'. Otherwise he could return for his senior season in hopes of improving his stock though that is always a dicey proposition due to the risk of additional injury. - 42635

Tips To Build Your Own Solar Panels

By Christonania Brownly

When you decide to build your own solar panels for your home, it will be important to take some steps that will make the project easier and affordable. Producing and installing solar panels on your home may require building permits for the project. Finding out what the building codes are for your area will save you money from the inception of your project.

Making contact with a person who has experience in solar panel installation in your area is another tip that will save you time and money. Each area has unique needs and requirements for different types of building. Talking to a person who knows which panels will be more effective in your area will help you to build and install your panels in the best location on your home.

Building solar panels that will produce enough energy to run a home efficiently will require specific plans. Finding plans that have detailed instructions and a materials list will be very helpful when you are trying to assemble all of the tools, equipment and materials that you will need for installation. The plans also need to include alternatives for storing enough energy to run the home on cloudy days.

The panels that are used can be purchased or made as part of your project. If you decide that you want to make your panels from scratch, start small. The small solar cells can be very expensive and as each cell is tied together they need to be tested. The average home will need about 41,000 square inches of solar panel. This is over 250 square feet of solar panel.

Knowing how much energy you use in your home will be important when planning your project. Many people decide to use smaller solar units and cut down on their energy usage. However, remember that the solar panels you produce will be staying with your home if you sell it.

In order to maintain the value of your home, you will want to get plans that will provide enough energy for the amount of energy that the average person or family will use in your home. - 42635

Bad Breath Cure With The Wonderful Ten

By Louise Elliott

Mouth malodor has been present in people over the ages. Take for instance the character "Bottom" in William Shakespeare's play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' who advises the other participants in the play thus: "Eat no onions nor garlic for we are to utter sweet breath". Bad breath during Shakespearean times was common. This offensive syndrome dates even further back, perhaps to prehistoric man itself. In the US alone over 70 million people are victims of this unforeseen malady. Professionally and socially you become unacceptable causing you much embarrassment. The syndrome is also known as 'halitosis'.

Bacteria that thrive on decaying food particles lodged between the teeth cavities and gums cause bad odor in the mouth. They multiply by the dozen, especially on your tongue thereby causing your mouth to give out a putrid smell, which can be compared to that of rotten eggs.

Oral malodor can be kept at bay if not cured. The following 10 wonderful check-lists will come in handy when dealing with bad breath cure.

1. Teeth Should Be Regularly Brushed

Teeth must religiously brushed after each meal. The tongue must be scrubbed and kept clean at all times. Special attention must be paid to the rear of the tongue.

2. The Oral Cavity Must Be Rinsed After Each Meal

Ensure that food particle debris is thoroughly rinsed out after each snack or meal. Doing so also helps keep your mouth free of bad odor. You could, perhaps, rinse with TheraBreath Oral Rinse, which contains OXYD-8. This chemical compound effectively does away with halitosis.

3. Toothpastes Containing Sodium Lauryl Sulfate Should Be Avoided

Always use toothpastes that do not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. It is suggested that you use TheraBreath PLUS toothpaste, which has high-quality anti-bacterial properties. In addition, rinse with mouthwashes that do not contain alcohol. Alcohol makes the breath even fouler.

4. Sucrose Containing Chewing Gums And Breath Mints Should Be Avoided

No doubt, chewing on breath mints can temporarily ward off bad breath. However, the sugars present in them are most harmful as they catalyze the growth of harmful bacteria in your mouth. A good idea would be to chew on 5-calorie TheraBreath ZOX Mints. These effectively eradicate the volatile sulphur compounds present in decaying food particles. Besides, these mints eliminate bad breath by keeping the mouth moist with saliva all the time.

5. Consume More Vegetables And Fruits And Less Meat Products

Eat less meat and more fibrous vegetables and fruits. This assists in keeping foul oral odor at bay. Consume fruits such as apples and pears, and raw vegetables like carrots. Chewing on the leaves of celery and parsley is also a good idea as these greatly help in removing bad. Parsley contains substantial quantities of chlorophyll and is a fantastic antidote for bad breath.

6. Consume Large Quantities Of Water Along With Prescription Medicines Medications

Drug-induced halitosis is very common. It causes the mouth to become dry. Your mouth should be moist at all times. Therefore, plenty of water must be consumed on a daily basis.

7. Quit Smoking

Tobacco and nicotine cause bad breath. Cigarette smoking in general is harmful to health. Quit smoking instantly and keep your mouth free of any bad odor.

8. Avoid Stressful Situations

Football Flashback: Saints Win NFC Championship Game

By Ross Everett

Until Sunday, it looked as if the return of Brett Favre to the NFL would have a storybook ending and propel the Minnesota Vikings to the Superbowl. Instead, the New Orleans Saints will be heading to the Superbowl for the first time in franchise history. Garrett Hartley nailed a 40 yard field goal in overtime to give the Saints a 31-28 victory in the NFC Championship game after Brett Favre was intercepted deep in Saints territory during the final seconds of regulation. Favre may be headed back to retirement, while the Saints are headed to Miami to play the biggest game of them all.

The Vikings did reward NFL betting fans who took them as +4 underdogs with a pointspread cover. Minnesota finished the season a solid 11-6-1 against the NFL pointspread while the Saints head into the Superbowl with a 9-9 ATS mark. The 59 combined points scored went OVER the posted total of 53'.

After the game, head coach Sean Payton drew an analogy to the city of New Orleans' recovery after Hurricane Katrina:

"This is for everybody in this city. This stadium used to have holes in it and used to be wet. It's not wet anymore. This is for the city of New Orleans."

Winning quarterback Drew Brees extended that same metaphor:

"In reality, we had to lean on each other in order to survive and in order to get where we are now. The city is on its way to recovery, and in a lot of ways has come back better than ever. We've used the strength and resiliency of our fans to go out and play every Sunday and play with the confidence that we can do it, that we can achieve everything we've set out to achieve."

Place kicker Hartley was low key despite securing the victory with his overtime field goal:

"Just helping my team get to Miami. Just doing my part."

Brett Favre didn't have much to say in defeat:

"I've felt better. It was a physical game. A lot of hits. You win that and you sure feel a lot better." Mississippi native Favre did throw his support behind the Saints:

"I would have loved to represent the NFC. But, as I told Sean throughout the year when we talked, if it's not us, I hope it's you guys."

The Vikings gave up a total of five turnovers including three fumbles. That, said running back Adrian Peterson, was the game:

"We really gave those guys the game. Too many turnovers. It's eating me up inside. - 42635

Considering A Tattoo Should Be Serious Business

By Rian Haswanda

Tattoos are a design in ink, normally symbolic or decorative, permanently placed under your skin. Tattoos are more popular today than at any time in recorded history. They are quite popular among many different age groups and are a common thing these days. Once confined under suits and ties from 9 to 5, tattoos are now out in the open for all to see. If tattoos are becoming more mainstream, the tattoo industry is growing up as well.

Choosing a design is obviously the first decision to make for most of us, and there are thousands of designs to pick from. How much you enjoy your tattoo for years to come is all in the tattoo design and the artist's skill of course. Picking a mythical creature for a tattoo design is the best way to express your individuality and creativity. Entire galleries shows are being dedicated to tattoo art and are focusing on not only the quality of the tattoo design, but also on the value of the human body as a medium for fine art. Find the best tattoo portfolio online and take a look at their portfolio. Ensure that you see a sketch of your design before getting it inked, because you wish to be completely satisfied with your tattoo and not take any unnecessary chances. When making the decision to secure a tattoo design inked, always ask yourself why you're doing it.

The most used tattoos are still tribal designs but dragons, lotus flowers and eastern symbolism is apparently popular as well. Tattoo lovers are looking in many new directions for new ways to express themselves. This may explain why Celtic tattoos are being mixed with tribal tattoos creating a style of tattoo known as tribal Celtic tattoos. Hawaiian Tribal and arm band tattoos are what's in and popular yet still liked.

Tribal tattoos can be traditional 'black work' on the arms and legs or more colorful styles characterized by the 'Modern Primitive' look covering the entire body. Tribal tattoos are symbols of the Native American culture Tribal Tattoos. Tribal tattooing was originally performed as a camouflage and then, later, as a symbol of loyalty. Today we find the tribal aspect of the designs very beautiful and powerful. Though there's been a recent resurgence in native and tribal tattooing, most tattoos today are done strictly in order of decorating oneself in an artistically expressive manner. If looking for an Indian tribal tattoo with an authentic flare, consider having the tattoo designed by an artist trained in tribal tattoo.

Mind you, tattoos are not only found for men. Girl tattoos are best known to feature small designs that cater to the woman who wants to add a small image without going overboard on the idea. Female tattoos or feminine designed tattoos are usually favored by women or girls. Tattoos on women are becoming increasingly familiar as tattooing has become more socially acceptable, largely due to the many celebrities who publicly sported tattoos. Flower tattoos are mostly favored by women; they are like clothes accessories except that one could wear your tattoo to bed. A lot of men find women with tattoos more appealing, sexier, more feminine and more powerful. Heart tattoos on the chest of the women are said to make a sexier image. Lower back tattoos are also very common for women. The lower back is just about the most sexual and sensual areas on a women, making the ideal spot for a tattoo. Often times, women tend to include a tribal that spreads, covering the bottom of their hips as well.

Do your researches before you trust someone to mark you permanently? They are permanent, and with today's divorce rate, you can view that permanent is not something that we tend to cope with very well. While lovers appear and disappear, tattoos are should have been permanent. You must remember that tattoos are permanent and once you get them, they are hard and costly to have removed. Tattoos are expensive and, more importantly, permanent; so choosing an image is definitely a big decision.

Tattoos are found on people of every age group, most professions, and most walks of life but three out of four respondents believe that visible tattoos are unprofessional. A study by Career builders shows the perils of tattoos for aspiring professionals, and conforms the conventional wisdom that Tattoos are a sign of immaturity, bad judgment and bad taste. Over 42 percent of managers said their opinion of someone would be lowered by that person's visible body art. It's no surprise that tattoos are more popular among the poor and under educated.

Seriously open your eyes and see real life, tattoos are just art that people get put onto them I am not saying they are evil or idiots. Other people besides sailors, bikers and soldiers may express themselves using body art. I think tattoos are incredible expressions of one's personality, providing you do the expressing, not the tattoo artist who created some idea that he thought would be cool, and 50 other people come in and get exactly the same tattoo. I think tattoos are a personal choice. Don't panic it you can't locate lots of tattoo's of dragons and numerous tribal design keep looking and believe me you can find many. Before choosing a design, it may help to browse the various tribal tattoos online. No matter person the right tattoo design has to look great and should be something that means something to you, is an extension of your character and something to be proud of. - 42635

Indy Nips Jacksonville As NFL Season Gets Underway

By Ross Everett

The Indianapolis Colts, finding their offense shut down by a relentless Jacksonville Jaguars attack, fought back in kind. The often maligned Indy stop unit matched the ferocity of their Jaguars counterparts play for play, and one touchdown pass from Peyton Manning proved to be enough to earn victory by a 14-12 margin in the NFL season opener for both teams. The victory was Manning's 118th in a Colts uniform, tying the legendary Johnny Unitas for the franchise lead.

NFL sports betting enthusiasts who took the Jaguars as +6 road underdogs were rewarded with the pointspread cover. Indianapolis dropped to 11-16 ATS over the past three years when favored. The 26 combined points went well UNDER the posted total of 45. Despite their reputation as an offensive juggernaut, the Colts have actually trended to the UNDER over the past three seasons, with 19 UNDERs in their past 35 lined games. The Jaguars, conversely, have a slight edge to the OVER in that span with a 19-14 mark over the past three years. Thats somewhat counterintuitive for a team best known for their defense.

After the contest, Manning displayed his characteristic humility when asked about tying the franchise mark for wins and particularly comparisons to the iconic Unitas:

"I've never felt comfortable with comparisons with him. I think he's kind of in his own category. But I am proud of those wins."

Manning was more concerned about the welfare of receiver Anthony Gonzalez who lefthe game with an injury:

"I askedRashean Matthis what happened and he said, 'I didn't even touch him . He has worked so hard in the offseason, I just hope it's not a season-ending injury."

Colts coach Jim Caldwell won his first game at the helm of an NFL team, and gave credit to his defense:

"Obviously, the defense played well and came up big at the end. We thought it would be a grind, and it was. I think our team certainly played tough, played hard, played with a lot of energy."

Jacksonville wasnt overly discouraged after the contest either. Maurice Jones-Drew gave props to the Indy defense after the game:

"They just did a great job in the red zone stifling our offense. My hat's off to them. But we have to learn how to finish."

Quarterback David Garrard also paid respect to his opponent's pass rush:

"I thought, 'Here we go again, we have a great chance. You love to be in that situation. We were trying to get the ball to Maurice, but you've got to slow those pass rushers down. We did what we could do."

The Jaguars will open their 2009 NFL home slate on Sunday as they host the Arizona Cardinals. Theyll travel to Houston for a game against the Texans the following week. The Colts will head to south Florida for a game against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night. - 42635

Ravens Go Undefeated On NFL Preseason By Thumping Falcons

By Ross Everett

Even when the games don't count and the starters play little, if at all, the Baltimore Ravens hate to lose. The Ravens third string signal caller John Beck played the entire game, and the former BYU standout threw for 232 yards and a pair of touchdown passes as the Ravens easily beat the Atlanta Falcons 20-3 at the Georgia Dome. The victory gave the Ravens an undefeated NFL preseason mark at 4-0, while the Falcons finished the exhibition campaign with a 2-2 record.

Sports enthusiasts who bet on NFL preseason action were rewarded for their investment in the Ravens, as Baltimore won outright as +3 road underdogs. Baltimore also finished the NFL preseason with a perfect 4-0 mark against the spread, while Atlanta finished 2-1-1 against the number.

Ravens QB Beck hasnt had much playing time in the NFL since his ill fated rookie year in Miami in 2007. After the game, he expressed how pleased he was to showcase his skills for the entire game:

"He (coach John Harbaugh) told me a few days ago that I would play the whole game. It was very exciting to get to play the whole game."

Beck made the most of his opportunity, finishing with 232 yards on 16 of 28 passing and a pair of touchdowns with no interceptions. The Ravens defensive reserves did their part by holding the Falcons to just 175 yards of total offense.

Despite the lackluster effort by his team, Falcons coach Mike Smith was nonplussed:

"You've got to understand in these games, you're going to call things defensively and offensively to put players in certain situations to evaluate them. You're not game-planning in a game like this. You're going to put players in certain situations to see how they handle certain techniques and coverages."

Falcon cornerback Chris Houston was a little more concerned:

"We've got to work on everybody getting to the ball. We've got to try to be more aggressive in our techniques. We made some plays tonight, but other than that, we still have a lot to work on as a defense."

The Ravens will get the 2009 NFL regular season underway at home, hosting the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, September 13th. The Falcons, meanwhile, will welcome the Miami Dolphins to the Georgia Dome to get their campaign started. - 42635

Rivers Shines As Chargers Beat Chiefs

By Ross Everett

The San Diego Chargers bounced back nicely from their Monday Night Football loss to Denver last week, opening a 20-0 halftime lead before coasting to a 37-7 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Chargers' quarterback Phillip Rivers passed for 268 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Running back Ladanian Tomlinson ran for a season high 71 yards as San Diego evened their record at 3-3. The hapless Chiefs dropped to 1-6.

The Chargers easily covered the NFL pointspread as -6 road favorites. It was only the second pointspread cover of the year for San Diego, who moved their ATS record to 2-4. Kansas City dropped to 2-5 against the spread. The 44 points pushed against the posted total.

After the game, QB Rivers suggested that the loss to Denver was a turning point for his team:

"Last week, we felt like we made progress. We had the attitude we were looking for, focus, but we didn't win. But we knew we got better."

Tomlinson broke off one of his most impressive runs of the year on the Chargers first touchdown drive, a 31 yard pickup that he said lifted the team's spirits and led to the easy victory:

"It kind of got us going. It was something we needed and it was a big play for us. It was a staple of our offense. It's been around for years, old power. It was perfectly blocked and was just a great job of execution."

The Chiefs continued to struggle on their home field, which at one point was considered one of the toughest venues in the league for visiting teams. Chiefs' nose tackle Ron Edwards lamented this home field struggle:

"We want to win for the home fans, for us, for everyone out there watching," nose tackle Ron Edwards said. "It's real painful."

Rivers pointed to the Chiefs' legacy of home field dominance in celebrating the win:

"Any time you come to Kansas City and win, it's good. We talked about getting on a roll and you've got to win one first before you can. Hopefully, this is something we can build on."

The Chargers return home to take on their hated rivals, the Oakland Raiders. They'll travel to play the New York Giants the following week before returning home to face the Philadelphia Eagles on November 15. Kansas City will enjoy a bye week before returning to action on November 8 on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their next opportunity for a home victory will come on November 15 against the Oakland Raiders. - 42635

Visiting Tigers Shock Hurricanes In Overtime

By Ross Everett

The Clemson Tigers used a touchdown pass on their first possession of overtime to upset the Miami Hurricanes 40-37 on Saturday night to cap a back and forth game. Miami kicked a field goal on their first possession of overtime to take the lead, but Clemson responded with a seldom used play on third and 11 to get the victory as quarterback Kyle Parker completed a 27 yard touchdown pass to Jacoby Ford. Clemson improved to 4-3 with the win while Miami slipped to 5-2.

College football betting devotees who backed Clemson as +4 road underdogs eventually cashed their tickets, but they definitely earned their money in a game that saw twelve lead changes and two ties. Clemson improved to 5-2 against the spread with the cover, while Miami dropped to 4-3 against the money.

After the game, Jacoby Ford explained the logic for the surprise play:

"We knew this game was going to come down to who made more plays. And we did."

Miami has a history of winning when their offense is clicking-this loss was only the second in 115 games when the Hurricanes score 37 or more points dating back to'85.

For his part, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is glad this one is over:

"I have a birthday next month and I think I'm going to turn 50 instead of 40. We had to put on Superman capes. We made plenty of mistakes that could have lost us the game, but they played with poise and confidence. We just kept battling."

CJ Spiller was also a big factor for the Tigers as he set a school record with 310 all purpose yards including a 90 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. He also added 81 yards rushing and 104 yards receiving with a 56 yard touchdown catch.

Clemson QB Parker suggested that last week's win over Wake Forrest was a turning point for his team:

"I think last week we realized that we could be really good and this week we acted on it. I thought we really got some explosive plays and we played well."

Miami's quarterback Jason Harris sounded a markedly different tone in his postgame comments:

"This has to be my toughest loss here. We fought so hard throughout the game as a team and didn't come out with the victory. We let Clemson outwork us, we turned the ball over too much -- little things that made us get to this point."

Clemson will host FCS foe Coastal Carolina next Saturday before resuming ACC play the following week at home against Florida State. They'll travel to North Carolina State on November--. Miami plays two of their next three on the road, starting next weekend at Wake Forest. They'll face the University of Virginia at home the next week before traveling to Chapel Hill for a game against North Carolina on November--. - 42635

Canadiens Rip Islanders For First Win In Regulation This Season

By Ross Everett

The Montreal Canadiens have gotten off to a slow start this season, and entered Thursday night's game against the New York Islanders having gone thirteen games without a win in regulation dating back to last season. Apparently, all they needed to cure their ails was a team that was struggling more than they are. The Islanders only have one win on the season, and the Habs jumped on them early scoring three goals in the first two periods en route to a 5-1 victory at the Bell Centre. Montreal improved to 4-5-0 with the victory while the Islanders dropped to 1-4-3.

NHL hockey betting devotees who weren't scared away by the -180 home favorite price tag on Montreal cashed their tickets with the Canadiens' big win. It was the sixth win for the Habs in their last eight meetings with the Islanders. The six goals scored just managed to go OVER the posted total of 5'. The Canadiens went OVER for only the fourth time in nine games, while the Islanders have gone OVER in five of their nine contests.

The sputtering Montreal offense finally woke up, helped by a 43-22 shots on goal advantage. When Montreal opened a 2-0 lead in the first period it marked the first time this season that they'd led by more than a goal, a fact that surprised left winger Mike Cammalleri:

"We're making it hard on ourselves. That's something -- I didn't realize that until right now but that makes sense. Every game's been so tight, and it's important to try and win in tight games and find ways to win those games but at the same time you can't do that 82 times a year and then however many games in the playoffs, so it was important to get out to a little bit of a lead and hang on to one tonight."

Montreal goaltender Jaroslav Halek played well in relief of starter Carey Price, but lost his shutout bid when he misplayed a puck just seconds into the final period. Cammalleri described a conversation he had with Halek after the game:

"After the game I went to give him a hug and he said, 'I don't like shutouts. And I said, 'Well, you better like shutouts!' But he played great when we needed him tonight, made some solid saves, and we'll let that one go."

Islanders' coach Scott Gordon admitted that his team's listless play made it easy for the Habs' to dominate:

"We were a pretty easy team to play against. Defensively we were on our heels because of all our turnovers and it wasn't just in one area, it was coming out of our zone, it was situations where we had full control of the puck and we're not making plays. It's probably the worst that I've ever seen it tonight and it's something that we've got to get better at."

Montreal plays their next two games at home, hosting the New York Rangers on Saturday night and welcoming the Islanders back to the Bell Centre for another game next Monday night. They'll then head to Pittsburgh for a game against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Penguins on Wednesday. The Islanders have a Saturday night home game against the Washington Capitals before their return engagement with Montreal. They'll then return home to play their regional rivals the New York Rangers on Wednesday. - 42635

UFC 88 Flashback: Rashad Evans Earns Respect

By Ross Everett

Rashad Evans was fighting for respect. He earned it and then some with a devastating 2nd round TKO of Chuck Liddell in the main event of UFC 88: Breakthrough.

If Evans needed any more validation of how little respect he was getting, he could have taken a look at the UFCs text message prediction poll of the main event which favored The Iceman by a whopping 81% to 19% margin. Or he could have listened to the UFC announcers, who had all but penciled Liddell in for a return to light heavyweight title contention after his inevitable victory.

From the opening horn, Evans showed no fear of Liddell's once legendary power. Instead, he danced and moved (which was dumbly criticized as showboating by the UFC announce team), using his slick footwork and speed to dart in and out of range of Liddell's punches. In the process, he was able to use his superior handspeed to get off first. His punches weren't exactly highlight reel power shots at this point, but were nonetheless effective as evidenced by a cut opened under Liddell's eye. For his part, Liddell scored with a few shots of his own, but was clearly frustrated by the evasiveness of his opponent.

Evans highlight reel power shot was to come in the 2nd round. Liddell backed Evans up near the cage wall and went to throw an uppercut. Simultaneously, Evans responded with an overhand right that landed quicker, harder and more accurately. The perfectly placed punch knocked Liddell out cold. Evans' KO was one of the most devastating in the history of the sport, and made all the more so by the status of the man on the receiving end.

Rashad Evans raised his record to 17-0-1 with the TKO victory. Liddell, meanwhile, saw his record drop to 21-6"with three of those six losses coming in his last 4 fights.

Liddell's loss notwithstanding, it was a good night for UFC veterans as Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson won their fights in impressive fashion. Franklin looked particularly sharp in dismantling tough Matt Hamill, eventually prevailing by 3rd round TKO. Hamill had trouble getting inside for the takedown he needed to compete in the bout, and every time he closed the distance he was met with a barrage of Franklin punches and kicks. Franklin employed leg kicks early on, which obviously hurt Hamill's ability to shoot for takedowns and ended the bout with a perfectly placed body kick that had Hamill doubled up and tapping out even as Mario Yamasaki covered the prone fighter.

This was the UFCs first trip to Atlanta and despite a good attendance the crowd itself was somewhat disappointing. In a marked contrast to the knowledgeable and enthusiastic fans at the Target Center in Minneapolis for UFC 87"arguably the best MMA crowd ever at a US venue"the live crowd at Phillips Arena often acted as if they were at a taping of Georgia Championship Wrestling. Every foreign fighter was booed mercilessly"including South Korean Kim. Perhaps the audience didnt realize that South Korea has been a US ally since its establishment after WW II.

More problematic was the crowds utter lack of respect for the fighters postfight. Poor Dong Hyun Kim was booed during his postfight interview like he was Professor Toru Takana cutting a heel promo on Mr. Wrestling 2 after winning the Georgia Heavyweight Title by throwing salt in his opponents eyes while the referee was distracted. Not quite the respect that a 4th degree judo black belt whod just won a very tough fight deserves. Kim's treatment by the fans cant be written off as a reaction to a close split decision victory; Rashad Evans was booed after his victory over Liddell, and short of decapitating 'The Iceman' there was no way his win could have been more decisive. - 42635

Small Feminine Tattoos

By Rian Haswanda

Body art comes in different forms, the most frequent of which are tattoos. Tattoos are just about the most ancient forms of body art, for which you will end up providing the canvas. And because tattoos have soared in popularity within the last decade, there's no shortage of tattoo "studios" willing to practice their artistry on you.

Tattoos originated as ancient, symbolic art forms, and most of them retain their symbolic meanings today. Although you can still find some people who get tattoos strictly based on the design, some of the people people tend to regret their choice of tattoo later on later on in life. Tattoos can be very beautiful, and capture lots of positive attention. Most people who decide to get tattoos today choose them for their symbolic meaning, and also the beauty. Both women and men have tattoos, some small tattoos, some large tattoos encompassing their entire body and today tattoos are more common than ever, particularly small tattoos.

Tattoo artists aren't willing to place dull lifeless designs in a seemingly haphazard way, but they tend to treat the body as a three-dimensional canvas onto which each tattoo is placed, to reside in balance with the body and any existing tattoos. Permanent tattoo designs differ depending on culture, religious affiliations, gender, or personal liking and selections. For certain tattoo designs, some people prefer to consider real life photos or browse through artwork for ideas pertaining to their tattoo designs.

Many individuals select tattoo designs from those presented at a tattoo parlor, while others approach some research and help ensure that their design is unlike any other. While there are tattoo designs that are gender specific, you will need to remember that getting a tattoo is definitely a personal thing and the image that is ultimately chosen should be one that reflects something that is important to the wearer.

Although there are several exceptions, most males and females will naturally be drawn to different tattoo designs. Of all tattoo designs, women commonly select small feminine tattoos with hearts, butterflies, flowers, lettering, etc. Men, however, often prefer that their tattoo designs be placed on the upper arm, like a Robbie Williams tattoo on the chest or back.

Many of the more popular themes center on the following:

*Butterflies *Dragons *Flowers *Crosses *Fairy *Irish *Celtic *Animals *Dolphins *Tribal

Some popular sub themes are:

*cat tattoo designs *zodiac tattoo designs *dolphin tattoo designs *heart tattoo designs *small feminine tattoos

With the exception of people with already chosen their preferred image, it is usually very difficult from which to choose the many tattoo designs right then. Usually, folks don't take some time to really think about why they choose a particular tattoo and look at other tattoo designs available. It takes many decision-making along with researching for meanings of different tattoo designs and ideas. There are millions of designs out there for tattoos - including different color combinations that have helped to make tattoos the phenomenon they are today. Should you be ready to produce a significant investment inside you art then custom design tattoos are for you. - 42635

Panthers Derail Struggling Buccaneers

By Ross Everett

Carolina Panthers' quarterback Jake Delhomme struggled on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was fortunate that his running backs bailed him out. Delhomme threw for only 65 yards with two interceptions, but D'Angelo Williams (152 yards) and Jonathan Stewart (110 yards) kept the chains moving as the Panthers won their second straight game defeating the Bucs 28-21. Tampa Bay has now lost ten straight dating back to last season and are 0-6 for the first time since'85. Carolina improved to 2-3 with the victory.

NFL sports bettors were faced with a choice between two teams with dismal ATS records in this game, and those who had the guts to take a 1-3 team as a -3 road favorite were rewarded with the cover. It was Carolina's first NFL pointspread cover of the season and left them with a 1-4 record against the number. Tampa Bay has covered one of their six games this year. The 49 points scored went OVER the total of 40'. Tampa Bay has gone OVER in 4 of 6, while Carolina has exceeded the total in three of their five games.

Delhomme attempted only seven passes in the second half, but the way Williams and Stewart were running there was no reason to put the ball in the air. Williams said that even though Tampa Bay knew what was coming they couldn't stop the Panthers' running game:

"I'm sure everybody in the stadium knew what we were going to do. There were times they had nine in the box and we were still getting 7 or 8 yards."

There's been little impatience locally with Bucs' rookie head coach Raheem Morris, but his weekly habit of explaining the obvious to rationalize yet another loss is starting to wear thin:

"We got overpowered at the end, and really throughout the game."

Carolina safety Dante Wesley was ejected after clobbering Bucs' return man Clifton Smith after a fair catch call. After the game, Wesley gave this defense for his actions:

"I was just trying to make a play. You can check my record. I've never really tried to hurt anybody. I've never tried to take a cheap shot on anybody."

Wesley could face a possible fine or suspension from the NFL but, in all fairness, it did appear to be a momentary mental lapse as he was trying to make a big play and not a deliberate attempt to injure Smith.

Tampa's schedule has the look of them going from 'the frying pan into the fire' as they host the New England Patriots next Sunday-fresh off of their 57 point drubbing of Tennessee. The Bucs are +14 home underdogs to the Patriots with the total set at 45. They'll get a week off after that contest and return to action on November 8 as they host the Green Bay Packers. Carolina has an easier draw, hosting the Buffalo Bills next Sunday. - 42635

Ground Primarily Based Mixed Martial Arts

By Regina Jon

The explosion in popularity of Mixed Martial Arts over the past decade has resulted in sporting franchises, television sports, and even video games to capture a rabid fan base. An easy boxing or wrestling matches will be overly promoted and often fail to deliver on the hype. In comparison, a Mixed Martial Arts match can draw not only interest for the blinding speed and raw power of the two opponents, but also the strategy they must deploy in order to force the other into submission.

The techniques allowed in mixed martial arts competitions can be dived in to two categories: grappling methods (pinning holds, clinch holds, takedowns, sweeps, throws, and submission holds) or striking techniques (knees, punches, and kicks). Most martial artists must cross train with many different mixed martial arts styles in order to be effected in all phases of combat. A standing mixed martial arts fighter will also need to able to combat on the floor if he is taken to the ground.

Most mixed martial arts competitive events have weight rankings so fighters can take on opponents who are close to their own body measurements. There are 9 main weight classes which are super heavyweight (120+kg), heavyweight (120kg), light heavyweight (93 kg), middleweight (84 kg), welterweight (77 kg), lightweight (70 kg), featherweight (66 kg), bantamweight (61 kg), and flyweight (57 kg).

Throughout mixed martial arts fight, the fighter's hands and wrists are guarded by small open-gloves which cushions the force on fist when throwing a punch. These gloves help keep the hands from cutting and encourage fighters to use their hands more for striking. The greater part of mixed martial arts fighters use 4 oz gloves with minimal protection, but enthusiasts are required to wear slightly heavier gloves which give more protection for the wrist and hands. The standard mixed martial arts gloves were first worn through the Shooto promotion by Japan, but they were later used by UFC when it started to become an international sport.

Ground based Mixed Martial Arts are most common in UFC fights given the ease by which one can earn a submission if they can pull their opponent onto the floor. Ground grappling is much less "pretty" than stand up form but is far more difficult because of the have to control your entire opponent's weight along with your own.

Cowboys Beat Bucs In NFL Opener For Both Teams

By Ross Everett

Tony Romo passed for a NFL career best 353 yards and threw three touchdown passes as the Dallas Cowboys got their 2009 season off to a good start with a 34-21 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Raheem Morris went down in defeat in his debut as Bucs head coach, while the Cowboys answered a lot of questions about how their receiving corps would respond to the absence of Terrell Owens, now with the Buffalo Bills.

The Cowboys easily covered the pointspread as -4 road favorites, and improved to 16-12 over the last three years when laying points. Tampa Bay dropped to 17-17 over the same timeframe as an underdog. The 55 combined points went OVER the posted total of 39. Dallas has gone OVER in 20 of their last 34 lined games.

After the game Roy Williams, who will be counted on to take up the slack from the loss of T.O., couldnt resist a wisecrack at his former teammates expense:

"Career-high passing yards? Without T.O? "No, it's good. It's good for him. It's good for this team. It was a team effort. Everybody contributed."

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said he wasnt surprised at the effort turned in by his wide receivers:

"They are playmakers, and we knew that going in. But until you do it, the naysayers are going to say: 'Hey. You don't have this or that.' But I think we do."

Romo, meanwhile, preferred to focus on the victory:

"You don't think about yards. You're not judged off of yards. You're judged off of winning and losing at this position."

Raheem Morris was still upbeat despite going down to defeat in his regular season NFL coaching debut:

"Obviously, we're disappointed. But there were a lot of good things on offense."

Perhaps the brightest silver lining in the dark cloud of the loss was the performance of Cadillac Williams. Williams appeared fully recovered from serious knee surgery and rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Bucs cornerback Ronde Barber suggested that the final score didn't convey that his team played well:

"We had our chances. The final score is definitely not indicative of how good we played at times. Those big plays absolutely destroy you football team.

The Cowboys will open their season at their plush new $1 billion plus stadium this Sunday, hosting the New York Giants. The Bucs will head to upstate New York to face T.O and his new team, the Buffalo Bills. Theyll return to Florida the following week to take their turn hosting the New York Giants. - 42635

* Roughly 30% of the solar consumption today is used for heating water.

Facts about Systems Used for Generating Solar Energy

* Solar systems for the home consist of 6 components - a battery, a charge controller, an inverter, a battery, solar panels, a support structure, and wiring.

* Solar for the home that are rated as a 1-kilowatt system usually take about one to two days for installation and typically cost $10,000 or higher with respect to the size of the house that is being powered by the system.

* A 1-kilowatt system requires a space of roughly 100 square feet for installation purposes and typically consists of 10 to 12 solar cells.

* If your home receives typically 5 hours of direct sunlight per day, a 1-kilowatt solar energy system can generate about 1,600 kilowatt hours annually. That figure drops to less than 50 % the output if you reside in a climate prone to cloudy days.

* A 1-kilowatt system eliminates the burning of approximately 170 pounds of coal, 300 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere, and saves up to 105 gallons of water consumption monthly.

* Most of the solar systems now available feature a 5-year warranty although the life of solar panels has been estimated at up to 30 years.
